As attorneys of law, we are subject to the rules for lawyers, for example the Rules of Professional Conduct for Lawyers in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
As lawyers, we are covered by the anti-money laundering regulations in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. In addition, we are obliged to investigate transactions if suspicions arise that they are related to money laundering or terrorist financing. In this regard, we are also obliged to inform the authorities or bar associations in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
If you, as a client, is dissatisfied with the services or the fee calculation, you are encouraged to raise this issue with the responsible partner.
Matters where the lawyer has acted in breach of the rules of good legal practice or has demanded too high a fee will be dealt with by:
Denmark: The Disciplinary Board
Sweden: The Swedish Bar Association’s Disciplinary Committee
Norway: The Bar association’s Disciplinary Committee
The respective disciplinary boards may criticize, reprimand and warn the lawyer, and reduce a fee claim against the client. The disciplinary board’s decisions may be appealed.
