Working conditions in the Nordics

The technological development and the many new types of employment have caused a need for better protection of employees. Namely employees working under a less fixed form of employment have more unpredictable employment conditions than employees with fixed contracts, working under more traditional terms of employment.
Because of this, the EU has passed the Directive Transparent and predictable working conditions in order to create more transparency and predictability about the employees’ employment conditions. The directive must be implemented by August 2022 at the latest and the bills are being proposed in several of the Nordic countries.
The document will focus on these and other similar new requirements on working conditions in the Nordic Region. In addition, the document will focus on other trends related to working conditions, such as remote working, the right to disconnect, etc.
